The stage is set for the Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. fight on Nov. 28. However, this is branded more like an exhibition and will be carried out differently. No winners will be announced and there will be no official judges present to score the fight.

Despite a different kind of atmosphere, Tyson and Jones are expected to come out fighting and give fans a pretty good show. Both have been training hard and some even expect a knockout to happen. Right now, Tyson is the odds-on-favorite over Jones. However, it would be foolish to count the latter out when they clash at the Staples Center in Los Angeles this Saturday.

The earnings of both fighters have also been bared. According to the New York Post, the former boxing champion is set to earn $10 million from the fight. Jones will get around $3 million and will be guaranteed at least $1 million for the fight.

For Tyson, that would be big money at his disposal. However, he mentioned back in July that he was donating it all to charities, TMZ reported.

“It’s going to be for various charities, so nobody’s gonna have to worry about me getting rich or being jealous and saying I’m doing this for money,” Tyson said. “I’m not getting anything and I just feel good doing this because I can.”

So unless he has a change of heart, all that Tyson cares about is returning to the ring and showing the boxing world that he still has power behind those punches. But Jones is no pushover, meaning Iron Mike cannot take him for granted.

But as mentioned earlier, this will not be a standard boxing match. The bout is set for eight rounds and both Tyson and Jones will not be wearing any headgear.

12-inch gloves will be used in the fight and the match can be halted should one of them suffered a serious cut. Either way, both will be handed special belts. No winner will be announced. This was stressed recently by California State Athletic Commission executive Andy Foster via MMA Fighting.com.

“I want the public to know what this is because I don’t want people to be disappointed. As long as they know this is an exhibition, I’m fine for everybody to earn,” Foster said.

The Tyson vs. Jones event will start at 10:00 p.m. E.T. It will be streamed live via TysonOnThriller.com or paid subscription on FITE TV. There are four main cards and three preliminary fights set for this weekend.
