Future Apple Watch Series 7 models may also feature flat edges like the new iPhone 12 models, according to a concept designer.
The excitement that iPhone 12 and its flat edges rekindled among its loyal followers appear far from over as many are also going crazy on the recent post of a concept designer of the future Apple Watch Serie 7, or at least as he imagines it will become. The render images that the concept designer posted on social media showed a future Apple Watch Series 7 model with flat edges like the recent iPhone 12 model.
According to Apple, it had good reasons why it reintroduced the flat edges on the new iPhone 12 family, which is reminiscent of classic iPhone models like the first generation iPhone 5. For one, it allowed for more space, which Apple engineers could use to place additional components for new features. In the case of the Apple Watch, however, there is no evidence or any indication that Apple will start implementing flat edges on future Apple Watch Series 7 models any time soon.
In fairness to Wilson Nicklaus, the concept designer who rendered images of what he imagined a future Apple Watch Series 7 may look with flat edges, he said that the render is only his concept. It does not confirm that the Cupertino tech company will also create its future Apple Watch Series 7 with flat edges. Nicklaus said he only wanted everyone to see what the smartwatch will look like if Apple decides to implement the flat edge design in any of its future Apple Watches.
Nicklaus also said that no one should consider his concept of future Apple Watch Series 7 with flat edges as some kind of prediction. It also does not make any representations as to what type of changes will the Cupertino tech company implement as regards the display or aspect ratio of its future smartwatches. The concept designer said he only focused on the metal case of the Apple Watch concept.

The rendered images of Nicklaus' concept of future Apple Watch Series 7 that featured flat edges show the stainless steel version of the smartwatch. The rendered design bears a very close resemblance to the design of the iPhone 12 Pro, which is also composed of stainless steel and glass. Following the path of the concept, you can therefore imagine the aluminum version of future Apple Watch Series 7 models with flat edges resembling a standard iPhone 12.
While Nicklaus said that his rendered image of the future Apple Watch Series 7 with flat edges is only a concept, industry observers say Apple has a penchant for making new products with consistent design. This means you should not be surprised if the company actually launches an Apple Watch Series 7 with flat edges in the future.
