Star Wars might have a lot of upcoming projects, but there is little doubt that Obi-Wan Kenobi is the one series that all fans are most excited about. After all, the highly anticipated Disney+ show will bring back Ewan McGregor as the Jedi Master and follow his story after the events in Revenge of the Sith.

However, it looks like Ewan McGregor isn't the only actor from the prequel trilogy movies who will show up in the series. It has been confirmed that Hayden Christensen will reprise his role as Darth Vader, and the Birds of Prey star is already looking forward to fighting his former castmate.

The new details about the Star Wars series were revealed at the recent Disney Investor Day. It was confirmed that the show's official title is Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi and that it would take place 10 years after Revenge of the Sith. The biggest update about the series confirmed that Hayden Christensen would be joining the cast as Darth Vader.

The idea of Darth Vader being a part of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series is an interesting one considering that Obi-Wan had lived a life of a hermit on Tatooine and was relatively under the radar of the Galactic Empire. It has already been established that their fight in A New Hope was the first time they saw each other after the epic duel on Mustafar in Revenge of the Sith. However, the show could reveal that they actually went up against each other before then.

During the Disney Investor Day, a sizzle reel for Obi-Wan Kenobi was screened for the audience. Although the video is not available on the internet, The Hollywood Reporter shared details about the footage, which was mostly made up of interviews. Interestingly, Ewan McGregor spoke about his upcoming reunion with Hayden Christensen, saying that "The most beautiful thing of all [about the series] is that it's brought me back together with Hayden."

So is Obi-Wan Kenobi actually sharing any scenes with Darth Vader? Ewan McGregor was quick to point out that the characters are set to get "another swing at each other" in the show.

The Obi-Wan Kenobi series will be a limited series with episodes directed by The Mandalorian Season 1 director Deborah Chow. The cast and crew, including Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen, are expected to begin filming early next year. The series is then set to premiere on Disney+ before the end of 2021.
