Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya is considering a return to the ring with several old faces fighting once more. Most know that Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. fight recently, an exhibition fight that reaped success.

Aside from that, there is also the ring return of Floyd Mayweather in February against YouTube Logan Paul. Evander Holyfield is another boxer bent on returning and the word going around is that he will have a trilogy fight with Iron Mike.

De La Hoya feels he has some left in the tank and is flirting with the idea. One opponent his mind may shock some pundits though their relationship is storybook. Gennady Golovkin is the man that De La Hoya wants to face and the 38-year-old boxer feels it is a bad idea in a report from Boxingscene.

"Everything involving Gennady Golovkin for him is a nightmare. He can say whatever. But let me put it this way - If I got an opportunity to legally kill a person in the ring, I might seize it," Golovkin said.

GGG’s comments are in retaliation to earlier claims by De La Hoya that the Kazakh fighter would be an easy fight for him. Golovkin was not too happy with that jab.

"You know how easy GGG would be for me? Oh, my gosh," De La Hoya said last month in another report from Boxingscene. "I always took a good shot and I always took apart fighters like him. In my mind it would be that easy."

De La Hoya and Golovkin are not exactly the best of friends. Both have engaged in previously heated exchanges, most of it when Canelo Alvarez was still under Golden Boy Promotions. There is no closure yet on whether the fight will go down but Triple G is already sending a fair warning to the 47-year-old fighter.

The last time that De La Hoya fought was in 2008. He bowed to Manny Pacquiao after his side stops the fight after getting a sound beating in the 8th round.

Golovkin may have not been fighting that much in the past years but remains lethal. Most know how he has knocked out opponents in the past and seeing the same happening to De La Hoya would be dangerous and even life-threatening.

All these are up in the air right now. But if De La Hoya is wise, he may want to pass up on those boxing ring plans against Golovkin or target a different foe instead.
