Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a clear shot to a title win this season as his squad is currently on the Top 4 of the Premier League table. The Norwegian said if trophies can be won in this campaign then the chance is high that top players like Paul Pogba will remain at Old Trafford.

The restless Pogba is scheduled to leave next summer is his agent Mino Raiola is to be believed but according to Solskjaer, the midfielder can still change his mind if the Red Devils start picking up trophies.

United is currently No. 3 in England and the club will be competing for the Carabao Cup and EFL Cup. If Solskjaer's side will continue on its trajectory, capturing the Premier League crown is also a possibility and there is the likelihood of becoming the Europa League champions.

Some or all these trophies coming to Old Trafford will lead to players regarding United with a higher standard and the club boss said top talents will naturally get attracted to the team. Solskjaer said success convince Pogba to continue wearing the United shirt.

"Paul has been here now for a while and of course he wants to win more trophies, and he's got a very, very good attitude to training and playing football," Mirror reported the head coach as saying.

Solskjaer acknowledged that Pogba is dedicated to football but the Frenchman is also ambitious. His decision to chase his dream of winning titles and if United can give him a shot on that then it is likely he will continue with the club.

Since joining up in 2016, Pogba only won two titles with the Premier League giants and all trophies were claimed during his first year of return to England. It has been a drought since then and the World Cup winner tried several times to exit from the club.

The 27-year-old did attempt to make his way back to Juventus but an agreement failed to materialize. He was also rumored as a target by Real Madrid but the global pandemic last season made it impossible for Pogba to make the switch to La Liga.

Goal said another possible issue for Pogba is his inconsistency, which prevents him from shining with United and likely prompting interested clubs to think twice before offering him a deal.

The French star is among the best-paid players in Europe but his productivity with United is somehow unimpressive. Since last season and up to the underway campaign, Pogba played in a total of 16 games and only scored two goals and three assists. But it should be noted that in the last term, the midfielder was plagued by injuries.

The last time Pogba proved he is worth the £89 million fee paid for him by United was in 2018-19, which the star headlined in 35 matches and cleared the net 13 times with nine assists to boot. It appears that Solskjaer is hoping Pogba will find the same form for United this season.
