It is no surprise that the biggest clubs in Europe are keeping tabs on Borussia Dortmund sensation Erling Haaland. The Norwegian striker at 20 years old has already 100 goals to his name and in the season alone, his total haul is at 17. And he is keeping up on the hot streak.

That is why the most elite teams in the continent are looking for ways to lure the rising star away from Germany. In the Premier League, there are talks of Haaland as the priority target of Manchester United, Manchester City, and Chelsea.

He likewise caught the attention of La Liga giants Real Madrid. Or Haaland can choose to stay in Bundesliga but toss his Dortmund shirt for Bayern Munich's. The latter should be tempting for the youngster as the Bavarians are the reigning champions, both in Germany and in the Champions League.

Of the clubs believed to be actively pursuing the Dortmund ace, two have been identified as the most serious suitors. According to The Daily Mail, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has already sent notice to the club board that Haaland is his priority target next summer.

It appears that the Blues boss set his sight on the Dortmund forward as Timo Werner, signed last summer from RB Leipzig, continues to struggle in making his mark at Stamford Bridge. If the German will prove a flop for Chelsea, Lampard seemed ready to move forward and place his bet on Haaland.

However, bringing Haaland to England will not be easy as United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer found out earlier. For sure, the striker will cost Chelsea big money and that is not even the biggest stumbling block for Lampard.

Haaland will not be available until the summer of 2022 as his Dortmund contract stipulates that a release clause will only get activated on that year and for a hefty price. And when that time comes, it is understood that the German club will only agree to talk for offers that start at no lower than £68 million.

It might be that Chelsea would be willing to spend big but the Premier League giants will also need to outbid Real. Fansided reported that Los Blancos are plotting in advance on the move to convince Haaland to play in Spain.

Real's plan is to put forward a swap deal that Dortmund might consider. The club is short of cash but the proposal of sending Luka Jovic to Germany might be attractive. In addition, Dortmund will get the asking price for Haaland but in two installments.

There was no mention if this offer already reached Dortmund but the report added that Real will make the move in 2022, meaning the club is not rushing things. Also, signing Haaland is Real Madrid moving over from the earlier intention of acquiring Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain.
