Prince William will do all in his power to protect the royal family, including potentially stopping Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from coming out with more podcast shows with Spotify.

A source told New Idea that the Duke of Cambridge has been having "a series of closed-door meetings" with his legal team to stop his brother and sister-in-law from further producing more shows. Prince William is allegedly wary that Harry and Meghan will spill about the royal family and "do more damage to the monarchy."

The insider further let on that William's major concern is that Meghan has no discretion, especially after admitting in court that she shared private information to a friend about her royal struggles, who later relayed these details to the authors of the Sussexes unofficial biography, Finding Freedom. Apparently, when Harry and Meghan had their son, Archie, join in their debut Spotify podcast, which aired on Dec. 30, 2020, it confirmed William's fears that his brother and sister-in-law's deal will not honor their need for privacy.

Harry and Meghan apparently prefer privacy only "when it suits them," but they will dish out personal stuff about their life if it promotes their endeavors, the source said. To entice the podcast's listeners to return, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex might discuss details about their royal life.

Archie was the biggest surprise of Harry and Meghan's first podcast, which had a number of celebrity guests like Sir Elton John, tennis star Naomi Osaka, and late-night TV host James Corden. The Financial Times commended the venture as a "smart move" as the couple asked their guests to submit audio diaries that did away with technical glitches, overlapping voices and other nuances listeners might expect from a live broadcast.

James Henderson, a PR expert, also believes that it was a wise move for the Sussexes to ask their celebrity guests to contribute to their first show. He told The Sun that well-known people discussing issues, thoughts and experiences will always draw interests and will help the couple build their audience.

However, Henderson agreed with the observation that having Archie in the podcast was not aligned with their desire for privacy. The couple has always defended their son's privacy with lawsuits against the media agencies.

Daily Mail reported, the first episode, which ran for 33 minutes, initially landed in 17th place upon its release. It was just below a Deep Sleep Sounds podcast of whale noises that helps people sleep better. Over the next few days, Harry and Meghan's podcast climbed to 7th place in the U.K. while it was in 26th place in the U.S.
