New and unconfirmed reports say that Apple will launch two products in April of this year, namely, the 2nd generation AirPods and the 3rd generation iPhone SE.

A new report reveals Apple is set to launch a 2nd generation AirPods Pro and a 3rd generation iPhone SE within the spring of 2021, or more specifically, in April. Citing Chinese supply chain sources, AirPods Pro's successor, brings improvements to its predecessor, though there were no other details save from the dimensions of its charging case. The report also mentioned that a 3rd generation iPhone SE is set for launch alongside the AirPods Pro, roughly a year after the launch of its 2nd generation model.

The recent report came from Mac Otakara, a Japan-based website with links to the Asian supply chain and accessory makers. The site usually reveals information gathered from original sources, along with information gathered from Japanese and Chinese rumor sites. According to Mac Otakara, Apple will launch its 2nd generation AirPods Pro and 3rd generation iPhone SE sometime in April of 2021. The website also revealed that the charging case of the AirPods Pro, while staying with a 21-millimeter thickness, its new length is at 54-millimeter with a height of 46-millimeter. Nevertheless, the slight change in the size of its charging case is not that significant compared to its predecessor.

Rumors about a redesigned AirPods Pro have been circulating for some time. In the past, rumors indicated that the design of the Apple AirPods would be circular, similar to the Pixel Buds and Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus. Apart from reporting that Apple is set to launch a 2nd generation AirPods Pro and 3rd generation iPhone SE in April of this year, Mac Otakara did not provide other details as of posting. Industry observers, however, say that it is obvious the second-generation AirPods Pro will have true wireless capability, active noise cancellation, and Spatial Audio support, as well as ecosystem and connectivity benefits when used with other Apple products like the iPad, Macs, and iPhones.

The Mac Otakara report also stated that aside from Apple's launch of the 2nd generation AirPods Pro in April, the Cupertino tech giant will also release the 3rd generation iPhone SE alongside the wireless earbuds. It was also in April last year when Apple released its second-generation iPhone SE. Industry observers expect the refreshed version sporting a 4.7-inch display, though there are also whispered talks about an iPhone SE plus with a 5.5-inch, or even a 6.1-inch display, complete with a Home Button. In the same report, Mac Otakara revealed Apple is working on a cheaper AirPods Max model it calls the AirPods Max Sports Edition. Rumors say this new AirPods Max model is set for launch in mid-2021 or in the second half of this year.
