The WWE is two weeks away from its annual Royal Rumble and some stars have declared for the 30-man battle royale. However, all eyes will be on the surprise participants on Jan. 31 and there are some curious names to consider.

Being one of the spectacles meant to give WWE fans a show, some of the missing names have a good chance of showing up. There is no better to speculate than by starting at former WWE champions who can easily sway the tide and ramp up excitement to start the year right.

One WWE star who has been sorely missing is Brock Lesnar. The Beast Incarnate was last seen at Wrestlemania 36 and little has been known from there. Word got around that the former champion is no longer under contract although this is not surprising.

Through the years, Lesnar has been in and out of the WWE. If not, he has popped up only on occasion, particularly when ratings are down. Also, there is a bit of a twist that makes him a logical participant.

There are angles to consider. One is tied to a potential Roman Reigns clash who is now handled by former manager, Paul Heyman. However, this means that Lesnar could have to be a face wrestler since Reigns is now in a heel role. The impact could be something although it is a character that Lesnar may not be suited.

If not Reigns, there is the revenge angle pointing to Drew McIntyre. He was the last opponent that the “Scottish Psychopath” faced and lost. Winning the Royal Rumble could set up a colossal clash at Wrestlemania 37. It would be fitting since The Beast would want nothing more than to get retribution.

Regardless, this should be treated with a grain of salt for now. It is possible that Lesnar is not around for concerns tied to the coronavirus. He could still emerge but not get involved in any major feud. It may all depend on the McIntyre vs. Goldberg title match.

Despite being taken out for two weeks after testing positive for COVID-19, the WWE will push through with the showdown. There is the belief that McIntyre will lose to Goldberg and a rematch will be held at Wrestlemania 37.

If McIntyre wins, it could be set up a rematch with another monster in Lesnar. It makes sense and the timing of Lesnar’s return would be perfect if it were to happen.
