Melania Trump faced a lot of controversies during her time inside the White House. One of the most shocking things that happened was when she wore her infamous "I Don't Really Care, Do U?" jacket from Zara in 2018.

Speculations have since developed as to why she did it. Several talks emerged, trying to uncover the former First Lady's intentions.

Speaking to Hollywood Life podcast, though, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff shared the details of what exactly happened, including Trump's real reasons and the fallout of the debacle. She exclusively shared the secret phone recording of her conversation with her former friend, wherein they discussed the matter.

The former White House staff asked Melania Trump what prompted her to buy the Zara jacket. She immediately replied, "I'm driving the liberals crazy."

Wolkoff shared in her recent interview, as well, the reaction she had when she saw the jacket. She said that she communicated with the former First Lady's stylist at that time, Hervé Pierre.

She asked him what happened but, the stylist's reply seemingly indicated that he did not know about the jacket. Despite this, he, reportedly, received all the blame, with Wolkoff adding that there were a lot of hate emails on his social media accounts.

Then, Trump's former friend claimed that Pierre "wanted the world to know he had nothing to do with it." However, she alleged that Trump's wife "would not do it," saying it was "no big deal."

For a time back then, Melania Trump kept her silence amid all the controversies regarding her jacket. BBC previously reported that even Donald Trump released a statement about the matter. He said that it was a message to the "Fake News Media."

The former First Lady's communications chief during that time, however, had a different response. Stephanie Grisham insisted that it was "just a jacket."

Many reports after, Melania decided to reveal her reasons in an interview with ABC News. She acknowledged that it was "a kind of message."

She continued that the jacket was not for the children, whom she visited at the border. She emphasized that "it was for the people and for the left-wing media who are criticizing me," noting that she does not care about them.

In the end, it appears that Melania Trump has been truthful to her words all along. But, whatever the case, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff's point is that the former First Lady did not care about the fallout and how it impacted other individuals, like her stylist, Hervé Pierre.
