Fans have waited nearly a year for DAY6's return. After taking a break from the K-Pop scene due to mental health reasons, the five-member group is now gearing up for their full comeback.

AllKpop reported that the news first broke earlier on Friday. The all-male band's label, JYP Entertainment followed it all up with a confirmation that the group is set to release their new album in April.

The title of the track collection remains undisclosed before the public. But, reports said that this will mark their latest release as a complete five-member group since May 2020.

Bandwagon released a report on the same day, with a recollection of what happened to DAY6 in the last few months. As noted, the K-Pop group dropped their record, The Book of Us: The Demon, amid the pandemic crisis.

But, ahead of the official release, JYP Entertainment announced that they would be halting the group's activities and other promotional events to "prioritize the member's mental health." Despite the shocking statements, though, their album still dropped on schedule.

Three months into the hiatus, members Dowoon, Young K, and Wonpil debuted as the group's subunit, Even of Day. They released an extended record, The Book of Us: Gluon - Nothing Can Tear Us Apart in August, while Jae and Sungjin continued to recover from their mental health concerns.

Kpop Starz then recalled that the subunit engaged with the public, once again, earlier in January. Even of Day dropped "So This Is Love" for their Secret: Atelier participation. Nine days after, DAY6's subunit held their first virtual concert, which met undoubted success.

The announcement on Friday comes after the five K-Pop idols, alongside their fans, celebrated their 2000th day since they debuted as a group. This seemingly made many My Days happy and excited, with some individuals stating that they have been "longing" for the group's return for a while.

DAY6 originally debuted as a six-member act, according to the Jakarta Post. Sungjin, the leader of the K-Pop rock band, has served as the guitarist, while Young K and Jae have focused on bass and rhythm guitar.

Dowoon debuted as the drummer of the group. They, also, had two keyboardists, Wonpil and Junhyeok. However, the latter left the act a year after JYP Entertainment introduced them to the public.

The same publication previously reported that DAY6 immediately met their success upon the release of their debut album, The Day. As fans would recall, it ranked second on Billboard's World Albums Chart, which has seemingly secured their place in the world of South Korean entertainment.
