Prince Charles has a special dinner date with pop star Katy Perry this coming March as the British Asian Trust Children's Protection Fund holds its Big Curry Night In for a second year.

According to People, the Prince of Wales and Perry are "dining in" with the event participants and other celebrities, such as Konnie Huq, Naughty Boy and Jos Buttler, for this fundraising campaign. Big Curry Night, which happens from March 5 to 14, aims to encourage locals in the U.K. to order curry from their neighborhood restaurants or make their own by buying ingredients at local grocers.

The initiative is also in support of the businesses impacted by the pandemic lockdowns. More importantly, the participants are encouraged to make a donation to the Children's Protection Fund for the impoverished communities with young girls and children in India.

While people enjoy their curry, they can expect Perry and the other celebrities to "drop in" virtually to make their night even more unforgettable. Charles prepared a special video inviting people to take part in this fun and worthy cause.

In its inaugural year, Curry Night raked in $2.8 million. The U.K. government has committed to match the donations made for this fundraiser.

In early 2020, Charles announced Perry as the new ambassador of the Children's Protection Fund after they personally met each other in Mumbai in November 2019. Perry was already working with UNICEF for its anti-trafficking initiatives.

Meanwhile, Charles other initiative, the Waitrose Duchy Organics, has generated about $40 million in sales during the pandemic year. According to Hello!, the number has broken all previous records and set a new milestone for the Prince of Wales' Charitable Fund and its partnership with the supermarket.

The money will go into funding project and the needs of the communities in the British countryside where farming, livestock raising, dairy production and other agricultural endeavors remain the basic livelihood of the people.

In the last few weeks, Charles has been quite busy making personal visits at various vaccine centers in the U.K. to check on the progress of the rollout and to speak with the people who have been waiting to get their shots. The Prince of Wales expressed hope that more people will support the program, especially among the South Asian communities in the U.K.

Charles also recently completed his first inoculation against COVID-19. He and his wife, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, got the injection together a month after Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip had theirs.
