GOT7 formally left JYP Entertainment earlier this year. While the group's move caused sadness among the fandom, the septet's plans not to disband have seemingly given their fans and followers hope.

Weeks after their exit, most of the members signed in to their new respective labels but, group leader JB has yet to do so. He, however, recently participated in a pictorial and interview for the April issue of the Arena Homme Plus magazine. Koreaboo reported that the K-Pop idol opened up about several things, including the group's exit, his new stage name, and his mental health.

The GOT7 member began the conversation by tackling their retreat from JYP Entertainment. He said that he took "responsibility for the whole process" as he is the leader.

Apart from closing deals with different labels, the septet, also, dropped their single "Encore," which JB deemed to be a "proud" thing to do. He then stated that the release has proven that they did not disband despite leaving their label of seven years.

The K-Pop idol continued that the "next step is even more important." He recalled, as well, what Jung Wook told him after cutting ties with the agency.

As noted, the CEO emphasized to him that their exit is "where the real work of a leader begins." JB said that he has since realized this "truth," especially these past few weeks.

The GOT7 leader eventually discussed his new stage name in the engagement. Soompi released a report about the matter, detailing his explanation about him becoming "Jay B."

Amid the fame of their group, he utilized the stage name, JB, which is a shorter version of his real name, Jae-beom. But, as a solo artist, he changed this to "Jay B," which he now introduces before the public.

He explained that he wants to show a "hiphop/R&B style with popular appeal" through the said name. He, also, mentioned releasing mixtapes or opening photography exhibitions, and other fictional productions.

Later in the interview, JB talked about mental health, as well. Pinkvilla released a scoop of the discussion, wherein the GOT7 leader admitted to having depression.

He shared that he has been "diagnosed with clinical depression," adding that he did not know he has it until the official diagnosis. He even pointed out his original thoughts of just having a "weaker mentality than other people."

Following the discovery of his mental concern, JB confessed that he is now doing therapies and "taking necessary medication and treatment." Nevertheless, he assured his fans and followers that he is now "feeling a lot better."
