Hajime Isayama has finally broken his silence after the end of his masterpiece, Attack on Titan. Amid the many speculations that there will be a continuation of the manga, it looks like it is indeed the end of Eren's story.

Attack on Titan chapter finale left fans a lot of questions about the future of the remaining characters. As Isaya seems to make clear that he wants to take a break after more than 11 years of working on the Titans' story, there may be no sequel or an epilogue episode coming.

According to Comicbook, the mangaka has been planning for his retirement, and it doesn't involve working on the continuation of Eren's story. Writing the epic dark fantasy series for over a decade may be enough for the manga artist, and it can't be denied that it turned out to be a massive success.

To clear things of the fans' speculations about the possible Chapter 140, he released his final author note--concise and clear. The 34-year-old writer published his short message in the recent issue of Monthly Shonen Magazine.

Here, he thanked fans for supporting him and Attack on Titan for the past 11 and a half years. He then asked his supporters to continue enjoying the magazine, which carries more manga series than his work.

In Attack on Titan Guidebook: Inside & Outside, Isayama revealed he wanted to create a "short, simple, and interesting" story. He tried his best not to make it complicated that would "alienate people."

Entrepreneur noted it was difficult for him to get people's interest to read the first chapter of his manga due to being lengthy. So, he focused on writing an intense turn of events that would attract readers from the very first page until the end.

From here, Attack on Titan was born, and it was overly successful. Ahead of the manga series' conclusion, fans started to fill the Twitterverse with thanks for Isayama's hard work.

The hashtag #ThankYouIsayama then trended due to the number of tweets made over time. Fans praised the artist for finishing writing the final chapter on the exact day of Eren's birthday on March 30, per GMA Network.

They called it "poetic justice," just like everything else he did for the series. Others thanked Isyama for a "wonderful and unforgettable story" with unforgettable characters who kept them company for more than 11 years.

Sadly, Attack on Titan manga officially ended with Chapter 139 on April 9, though its anime series is still ongoing. Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 17 will drop in winter.
