South Korean K-drama star Son Ye-jin could be signing on to her next project after her hit series, Crash Landing on You(CLOY), as she is reportedly in talks to lead a new TV show about turning 40-years-old.

The film, tentatively titled Thirty Nine, will have Son Ye-jin (keywords) star alongside Jeon Mi-do from the K-drama, Hospital Playlist. The two will play women who are re-evaluating their life as they leave an old chapter and start anew.

According to reports, Son, who just turned 39 in real life, will play the CEO of a dermatology clinic who has enjoyed a life of privilege. Jeon, on the other hand, will play a woman who teaches acting for a living.

Writer Yoo Young-ah has been tasked to pen the scripts, which are expected to be ready by the middle of 2021 when production begins. Son, however, has not yet confirmed her addition to this project but if she accepts the role then this will be her next series following the global hit, Crash Landing on You.

Son has not been taking other projects because she was due to star in her very first Hollywood movie with Australian actor Sam Worthington, who is best known for the blockbuster movie Avatar. However, their project together, titled The Cross, may be pushed back due to the pandemic restrictions.

The Cross would have also been Son's first English movie as her role will require her to speak English for the entire film. The movie tapped director Andrew Niccol at the helm and it's going to be under the sci-fi genre with some scenes filmed in South Korea.

Son debuted in the South Korean entertainment scene in 2001 and quickly earned starring roles in movies like Classic(2003) and A Moment to Remember (2004). But fans around the world fell in love with her and her CLOY co-star Hyun Bin after Netflix released the tvN smash-hit on their streaming platform. Fans of the series were even more thrilled when Son confirmed she has been dating her co-star for more than a year since filming CLOY.

Meanwhile, as one of South Korea's top stars, Son recently became the new brand ambassador of the Valentino fashion house. According to reports, she will take part in the worldwide campaign of the high-end brand alongside Japanese model Kōki and award-winning Chinese actress Guan Xiaotong. Son Ye-jin was picked not only for her appeal and talent but also for her authenticity and individuality.
