Good Witch season 7 is officially coming next month on Hallmark Channel after encountering a series of delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The fantasy comedy-drama has been renewed in July 2020 and only a few details have been revealed about the upcoming installment since then.
The good news is that Hallmark Channel has just recently released a teaser of Good Witch season 7. The latest outing will bring new mysteries, as well as romantic moments. The clip, which comes with a background song "Confident" by Demi Lovato, featured most of the characters showing more magic.
The teaser is titled "It's a Family Affair," which indicates that the story will focus more on the family. The video comes with the tagline "the spell is cast" and teased "a spellbinding new season." The promo didn't provide more details on the entire plot as it was more of a promotional purpose.
But, it showed that a lot of the characters are returning -- including the ones introduced in the previous installment. Katherine Barrell, in particular, is coming back to reprise her role as Joy Harper. She was introduced in season 6 and her backstory may be further explored.
As for other returning characters in Good Witch season 7, Catherine Bell is back as Cassie Nightingale, Catherine Disher as Martha Tinsdale, Sarah Power as Abigail Pershin, Marc Bendavid as Donovan Davenport, and Kylee Evans as Stephanie Borden.
Scott Cavalheiro also returns as Adam Hawkins despite the uncertainties surrounding the character at the end of season 6. His fate has been in question, with some speculating he might be departing in the latest installment. Yet, the series may explore more of his and Stephanie's relationship.
In terms of the official logline, "the velvet pouches of soil discovered by Cassie, Abigail, and Joy in the season 6 finale mark the start of a new Merriwick mystery." The cousins will unravel more secrets, leading them to reflect on their past and how certain events impacted who they are now.
In addition, Good Witch season 7 kicks off with the title "The Party." Cassie and Sam finally pushed through their long overdue date. However, it does not go according to their plan and they end up being stranded on an Island. Joy, on the other hand, dreams about her parents.
Meanwhile, just like other series on Hallmark Channel, such as When Calls the Heart, the production of the fantasy comedy-drama was done with certain health guidelines and safety protocols. But, while there are several changes, the theme of the story will remain the same.
Good Witch season 7 is premiering on Sunday, May 16, on Hallmark Channel.
