Netflix's growing anime library is about to welcome new titles to its roster. On Wednesday, the streaming giant confirmed that the two new films in the Sailor Moon franchise will arrive on its platform.

The official title of the material is Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal The Movie. The first installment premiered in Japan earlier in January, while the second dropped a month later.

No one knew when the titles will premiere outside the country until today. This is why avid fans and viewers of the franchise are seemingly in celebration on various platforms.

Netflix confirmed the arrival of the Sailor Moon films by releasing a new trailer. Based on the promotional material, the two titles will officially drop on June 3.

Comic Book reported that the films continue the events of the Sailor Moon Crystal series. The franchise chose to do this in the movie form instead of creating new seasons for an anime series.

Nevertheless, the latest additions to the franchise still utilized the original source. Accordingly, the global audience can expect to see a direct adaptation of the "Dream" arc of the manga.

Toei Animation and Studio DEEN worked on the project together. As for its direct distribution outside Japan, Netflix has all the rights to it.

The synopsis has, also, made its way to the platform, seemingly allowing the hype to build further. As noted, the two Sailor Moon films take place in April, "when the cherry blossoms are in bloom, and Tokyo is in a festive mood."

In celebration of the "total solar eclipse" of the century, Usagi and Chibi-Usa encounter Pegasus. At that time, though, he is searching for the "chosen Maiden" who can then break the seal of the Golden Crystal.

Amid the search, Dead Moon Circus, which is a mysterious troupe, arrives in town to execute their nefarious plan. This involves the scattering of the nightmare incarnations of Lemures, seizing of the Legendary Silver Crystal, and ruling over the moon and the Earth.

The Verge, later on, reported that the Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal films are only some of the latest additions to Netflix's anime slate. As it happens, the streaming giant has continued to place its focus on expanding its anime library these past few years.

In the last four months, the platform has already launched 40 different anime titles. New more additions will certainly arrive in the next few months, including the highly-anticipated Yasuke.
