Gayle King, a close friend of Meghan Markle and a U.S. entertainment journalist, has done a TV special centering on Queen Elizabeth, which will run on CBS on May 14.

The Queen Carries On: A Gayle King Special is a look at the monarch's private life from the perspective of the people who grew up with her. It will also delve on how Queen Elizabeth has been coping now that her beloved husband of 73 years, Prince Philip, is in the afterlife.

The documentary will also chart how Queen Elizabeth has been a grandmother to Prince William and Prince Harry, especially after they lost their own mother, Princess Diana, at such a young age. King will also probe into Harry and Meghan Markle's interview with her best friend, Oprah Winfrey, particularly on the subject that the royal family turned a blind eye on the mental health of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Reports also cited that King will tackle the collapse of the marriage of Prince Charles to Diana. It comes as Harry and William are expected to reunite in July for the unveiling of their mother's statue in Kensington Palace.

However, promos for King's special do not say if she will also touch on the rift between Harry and William. It was King who first broke the news that Harry didn't have a progressive talk with the royal family after the airing of that bombshell interview with Winfrey.

Meanwhile, The Queen Carries On: A Gayle King Special will also feature appearances by Sir Paul McCartney and the Obamas, Barack and Michelle. It's understood that the former Beatles star and the former White House occupants have a close relationship with Queen Elizabeth.

But the British public will not likely welcome King's special after she received criticisms for asking if Philip died of natural causes. According to viewers who saw clips of her show on YouTube, it was disappointing to listen to King's coverage since the Duke of Edinburgh was 99 years old when he passed away. Buckingham Palace also said that in a statement that the queen's husband died "peacefully" in Windsor Castle, indicating that it was of natural causes.

Gayle King also sparked a row after she brought up why Princess Anne was the only female royal to walk behind the casket of the Duke of Edinburgh during the funeral march. Royal observers said that there's one obvious reason and it's because the Princess Royal is the queen and the late duke's only daughter.
