BTS remains on a global hot streak since the release of "Dynamite" in 2020. Despite the fame and popularity over the last eight years, their latest feats and heights have, reportedly, become nearly unprecedented.

With the upcoming release of their 2021 comeback, the seven members talked about the more technical aspect of their career. In a sit-down interview with Rolling Stone, they discuss their group's genre, with answers regarding their possible stint with a rock song.

Koreaboo said that Jin did not dismiss the likelihood of the septet having and releasing "rock-style songs" in the future. He said that he, himself, will not likely refuse if it comes their way.

The oldest member of BTS continued that it will be "good" if they can do several of them as they move forward with their career in the music industry. However, he said that these rock-style songs should "feel appropriate and match the style" of their group.

In one part of the interview, the BTS member, also, revealed that they all write songs based on a "theme and tone" they all set for a recording. He, then, mentioned the usage of his own experiences and memories when he writes lyrics for a song.

RM, on the other hand, had a different thought about their group's music style. Instead of classifying their songs into specific categories, he shared that BTS is its own genre.

This came after the interviewer told him that many fans and followers do not see them as part of the K-Pop industry, adding that the "BTS is the genre" as they continue to create BTS music.

The group leader responded that K-Pop has become a genre that expands "very fast," especially these past few years. He referenced acts and bands that do not have Koreans as members but, are considered as K-Pop groups.

RM, then, pointed out that amid all of these things, they "do not actually care" whether the public deems them a K-Pop group or not. What matters is that they are all Koreans, and they release songs. This is why they see themselves as a genre on their own.

Meanwhile, the seven K-Pop idols are now seemingly gearing up for the last few days before their official comeback track drops on media platforms. "Butter" will arrive on May 21 at 1 p.m., KST.

Forbes reported that it is seemingly headed for a debut on the top music charts, following the shocking reception on their latest teasers. As it happened, the group's new video teaser material amassed its first million views in less than an hour, causing many to believe that the same thing may happen upon the arrival of "Butter."
