K-Pop groups have come and go in the industry over the years. While many of them disband after trying out in the music space, rookies who debut each year outnumber those who have left.

One of the big names in the K-Pop scene that will likely introduce a new group this year is SM Entertainment. The rumors and speculations recently emerged following the company's latest movements.

AllKpop reported that many individuals noticed that the label created new official social media accounts on Instagram and TikTok. It carries the name "PinkBlood" with a logo, featuring a glittery font in front of a heart in blue, purple, and pink hues.

Apart from the social media accounts, the publication said that SM Entertainment applied to trademark "PinkBlood." Although confirmations remain scarce, netizens have since speculated that the agency will introduce a new girl group. Some of the theories include that it is a group in collaboration with Mystic Story. Others, reportedly, asserted, as well, that it may likely be a unit under Girl's Generation or a female version of SuperM.

There are, also, a few theories that "PinkBlood" may be a related project to aespa. This comes after the rookie K-Pop group has become a lot more active on social media these past few weeks.

Koreaboo released a similar report, covering the matter. While the rumors continue to develop, the publication emphasized a few pointers regarding the trademark application.

As explained, SM Entertainment has done this a couple of times already in the past. The label, reportedly, has a "habit of trademarking multiple names that never get used."

These include "LYFE," "WHITE FOX," "FRNZ," and "SPRY." All of which sparked similar rumors, as well, at the time of their respective trademark applications. Therefore, it remains unknown whether PinkBlood is, indeed, a new and upcoming girl group that will debut soon.

Meanwhile, YG Entertainment is facing a similar buzz across the K-Pop industry. The Korea Portal said that there are talks about the agency gearing up to introduce a new girl group, as well, before 2021 concludes.

Based on assertions, while SM Entertainment is focused on aespa and JYP Entertainment on ITZY, the label applied for a trademark for "Baemon," short for "Baby Monsters." Photos of rumored members even surfaced on various media channels, causing more speculations to develop.

A source from the company, later on, confirmed that they are, indeed, preparing to launch a new girl group under YG Entertainment. The announcement did not disclose, however, the details of the matter, including the name and the members of the band.
