Fans celebrated upon learning about Red Velvet member Joy's upcoming solo debut album. While it is, indeed, a feat to be happy about, the K-Pop idol revealed that she, also, experienced "hardships" and struggles in preparation for her track collection.

In an interview with Jessi for Shorterview, Joy shared some personal anecdotes about her latest move in her career. Koreaboo said that, in one part of the engagement, she focused on the details of her challenges, especially after realizing the hard work of the staff working with her these past few months.

She noted that she had a "mix of emotions" recording the tracks for her upcoming solo album. She stated that she felt "excited" at first, considering that it had been so long since she last worked on a music release.

The Red Velvet, later on, revealed, though, that it all became "burdensome" for her upon realizing the efforts of the staff. She said that it "piled up" on her that much, adding that it became too hard for her to take it all at once.

Joy continued that despite feeling these things, she was "reluctant" to share her thoughts and emotions with others, even those who are around her. As a result, it made her feel "isolated" because she did not want to burden others with her own baggage.

Following her revelations, Jessi gave her some pieces of advice. The South Korean artist empathized with her, stating that she understands Joy.

Even so, she urged the Red Velvet member to speak to others about what she feels. In the end, Jessi reminded her that "it is okay not to be okay."

Joy's upcoming solo debut album, Hello will drop on May 31. The confirmations emerged last week, with SM Entertainment revealing more details earlier this week.

A separate report from Koreaboo noted that the track collection will be a "remake album," featuring original songs from the 90s and 2000s. It will house a total of six songs, and each of them will showcase the Red Velvet idol's "own vocal style and color."

The pre-orders for Hello have already started on Monday. As for the release of the physical collection, it will take place on June 3.

Weeks ahead of the release, Joy has remained active in releasing teaser materials on various platforms. Aside from the snippets on Twitter, she, also, gave her fans some "mood samplers" via YouTube.

AllKpop reported that she just dropped the second sampler on Thursday. The 30-second clip features her as she "enjoys a picnic out in the warm spring weather."
