Prince William walked away and did not respond to a reporter who asked about his comments over Martin Bashir's apology addressed to him and his brother, Prince Harry. The Duke of Cambridge was on his royal tour of Scotland this week, which will be covered by the royal rota, or a group of journalists who will be following him for the week.

The reporter, who joined Prince William at the Grassmarket Community, did not receive any response from the Duke of Cambridge. The reporter was alluding to the statement Bashir said after an independent inquiry, led by Lord John Dyson, released its findings on Barshir's Panorama interview with Princess Diana, William and Harry's mother, more than 25 years ago.

The inquiry stated that Bashir used deceitful tactics to land the bombshell exclusive that many believed destroyed the life of the Princess of Wales and the BBC covered up his actions. But in an interview after the finding's release, Bashir said that he's deeply sorry to William and Harry.

Yet the former BBC Panorama correspondent also said that he did not became a party to Diana's "isolation and paranoia" at a time when she felt most vulnerable because her marriage to Prince Charles was in shatters. He said that he also loved the princess, who died in 1997, or a year after she and Charles divorced.

William and his brother both issued statements regarding the Dyson investigation. The Duke of Cambridge said that he hopes the infamous clips of his mother speaking with Bashir will never make it to air any longer after this investigation. BBC also apologized to the royal brothers.

Meanwhile, in 2017, William and Harry apparently made a pact that they will not speak about their mother again in public after they appeared in a documentary dedicated to her on her 20th death anniversary. According to Daily Mirror, the brothers told ITV during the documentary's preparation that they will not be publicly talking about their mother again because the film will be enough.

However, Harry has been opening up about his struggles with his mother's death in his latest documentary, The Me You Can't See, which focuses on his mental health wellness. Harry has admitted that he has been having a hard time dealing with losing Diana and it's impacting his relationships.

Prince William, on the other hand, has hardly discussed his grief about Diana's death. But during his Scotland royal tour, he said that this place was special for him because it was both where he learned she was gone and it was also where she met the love of his life, Kate Middleton.
