NBA superstar Stephen Curry has just closed his second $200 million-plus contract. Curry signed a four-year extension contract with the Golden State Warriors, which will see him play with the team through the 2025-2026 season.

Jeff Austin of Octagon, Curry's agent, confirmed the signing of the agreement for the NBA point guard. Under the agreement, Curry will receive $48 million to play with the team for the 2022-2023 basketball season. He will then received $51.9 million in the next season, $55.7 million in the next, and $59.6 million in the final year of his contract.

Sports analysts said the extension of his contract was to be expected and its finalization was only a matter of negotiating his salary. For his latest season, Curry showed that he is still on the top of his game. The 33-year-old basketball star averaged 32 points, 5.8 assists, and 5.5 rebounds for his team for the current season.

During the 2019-2020 season, which was shortened due to the pandemic, Curry only played five games. In the next season, Curry played a total of 63 games. The two-time MVP was still able to perform his best during those games despite Klay Thompson's absence and his still-healing broken left hand.

At the end of the current season, which was the end of his previous contract, Curry had issued a statement thanking his teammates for all that they have done. He said with his team's support he was able to play at his highest level.

Curry previously told reporters that he planned to play basketball until he is 40, if possible, and with the Golden State Warriors. Curry originally signed a five-year contract with the team in July 2017. Curry received around $201 million as part of the agreement, which at the time was the largest deal ever made in the sport. It was later topped by James Harden, who received $228 million after he extended his stay with the Rockets.

When he first entered the sport, Curry was an underdog that was often overlooked due to his size in comparison to other players. Since he was drafted seventh overall in 2009, Curry had repeatedly shown that he had the chops to hang with the best players. Curry has led the Golden State Warriors to five straight NBA Finals and championships.
