Business mogul and U.S.A.'s 45th President Donald Trump is set to do some boxing commentary for this Saturday's match between Evander Holyfield and Vitor Belfort, Triller Fight Club, the bout organizer, said.
The boxing event will see Holyfield come out of retirement and fight for the first time since 2011, taking on former UFC Champion Vitor Belfort in a bout scheduled for eight rounds.
Belfort was originally scheduled to fight Oscar "The Golden Boy" Dela Hoya but Holyfield had to step in as a replacement after Dela Hoya tested positive for COVID-19.
In an announcement that was made on Tuesday, Triller Fight Club released a press statement that confirmed the involvement of Trump in the boxing match, manning the commentary booth for Saturday's boxing spectacle.
Trump has inked a contract to commentate for the main event together with this son, Donald Trump Jr. The former U.S. President is also set to provide commentary services for three other matches that are part of the undercard bouts that are set to take place at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino and Resort in Hollywood, Florida.
Surprisingly, this is not the first time that Trump would do something like this, as he previously hosted early UFC events that took place in his casinos in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
While serving as the U.S. commander in chief, Trump maintained his connection with combat sports, establishing ties with UFC brand and company head Dana White, who threw his support for a second term in office for the business mogul, but to no avail.
This commenting and hosting gig is expected to boost Trump's social relevance and exposure especially that he is banned or suspended from most mainstream social media platforms.
Trump said he loves great fighters and great fights and he is excited to see both and share his thoughts about it on Saturday night.
The promotion's pay-per-view begins at 7:00 p.m. It is priced at $49.99 and will also have a co-main event pitting UFC Hall of Famer Tito Ortiz and UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva in a boxing match.
