The first season of Rio's story officially ends today, putting everyone's eyes on the coming of "The Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles" Season 2. So, will the anime series receive a renewal?

If "The Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles" Season 2 happens, fans can expect Rio/Haruto Amakawa to reunite with old friends. Of course, there will also be big battles happening that viewers have to watch out for.

After the success of rescuing Celia, Rio made his way to Amande. He stocked up supplies and gathered information about the hero summoning.

However, his main goal is to find Lucius Orgueille, who abused and murdered his mother, Karasuki Ayame. He, then, tries to infiltrate the Claire estate to inform Celia's father of her whereabouts, Monsters and Critics noted.

Elsewhere, Liselotte Cretia encounters a huge problem with Princess Flora and Sakata, the Beltrum hero. The monsters attack the carriage under Reiss' orders.

Thankfully, Rio arrives and saves Liselotte. Rio manages not to answer the questions about his identity, but Chloe remembers him.

He quickly tries to change the topic, but he runs out of anything to say. Celia, too, is trying to keep her identity a secret.

From here, the war between the nobles and princesses begins. Add to that the monsters that attack a city, a big battle ensues.

Reiss, Lucius and a traitor make their move against Rio and target Liselotte's home. Now, can Rio continuously save his friends and fight the enemies?

It looks like the answers to these questions can only be found when "The Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles" Season 2 comes. Sadly, there are no words yet about the new season renewal from TMS Entertainment, the anime's production company, per HITC.

Anyhow, with the availability of source material, it looks like a second season will surely come. The first season finale is believed to adapt until Volume 5 of the franchise's original light novel series by Yuri Kitayama.

So far, there are already 20 volumes of it published in Japanese, as of September this year. This just means there is enough material for continuing Rio's story until four seasons.

In addition, despite some negative reviews, it cannot be denied that the anime's first season is a success. It receives a 3.8/5 score from Crunchyroll, 7.6/10 from IMDb and 7.14/10 from AnimeList.

So, in no time, fans may hear the official announcement of the coming of "The Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles" Season 2.
