Two major royal family members may miss Prince Philip's memorial service on March 29 at Westminster Abbey. Following Prince Harry's announcement that he would not make it at the event, a royal correspondent revealed Queen Elizabeth II might miss it, too, due to her health.

In an interview with " GB News, The Sun's writer Charles Rae hinted at Queen Elizabeth's absence from the event in an interview with "GB News." He said, via Express, the monarch had "canceled the Commonwealth service for Monday."

He continued that the royal aides believed the drive to Westminster Abbey from Windsor would cause discomfort to Her Majesty. She, too, had to be at the church service that might take its toll on her energy.

Due to her absence, Rae continued that the Commonwealth leader is "very sad to be missing it," knowing it is one of her calendar's highlights. Despite that, though, she is still set to deliver a message to the public and watch the service on television.

She may also not attend the service for her late husband, Prince Philip, as it is the same distance as the Commonwealth service and the similar church service. "Let's hope she can make it, but she has to look after herself," Rae concluded.

The Mail on Sunday added Queen Elizabeth had already ruled out the use of a wheelchair to attend the service. It also claimed she could not walk her corgis for the past six months, proving she is "not well enough."

It has been known that the Queen is turning into her beloved dogs in times of crisis and stress. In fact, she took them out almost every day after Prince Philip got sick and died last year at the age of 99.

Meanwhile, this news comes after Prince Harry's spokesperson confirmed to NBC News, via Today, that he would not be returning to the U.K. to attend the memorial service honoring his late grandfather.

For starters, Meghan Markle's husband attended Prince Philip's funeral in April 2021. However, compared to the past royal funerals, the event was only limited to 30 guests due to the COVID-19 pandemic safety concerns.

Despite his absence at the memorial, Prince Harry still hopes to return home as soon as possible to visit his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth. However, his decision not to attend the memorial service comes after he expressed his concerns about the lack of security for his family when they visit the U.K.
