AllKpop revealed the poster came in the form of a black polaroid photo that contained the date of when the new track would be out. It noted it would be on April 5 at midnight.
Recently, YG Entertainment confirmed G-Dragon, T.O.P, Taeyang and Daesung have already finished filming their new music video. So in no time, fans would again see the four back on stage.
In February, the music label formally announced the boys' return with new music sometime this year. In a recent statement, as translated by Soompi, the company revealed that their comeback preparations are now going smoothly.
It, then, promised to inform fans of more details about their new song, which would also be out soon. It would mark their first ever release in four years as this comes.
To recall, the last time they dropped a new song was in 2018, with "Flower Road." Meanwhile, YG's announcement about Big Bang's comeback also came with the news that T.O.P had ended his contract with the company.
The K-pop idol eyed to expand his personal activities as an artist and entrepreneur. In an interview with a Hong Kong-based magazine, Prestige, via Manila Bulletin, the 34-year-old rapper opened up about his life, past controversies, suicide attempt and his personal plans.
He said he was already decided to seriously stop making music and stop being a musician. However, his motivation to keep going during the rough and bad times was still music.
He even revealed that he had written more than 100 songs over the past five years. He wanted to fill up a bookshelf with his work, admitting it had been his passion to make music.
"I realized how precious it is to pay back what I've received," he said. "I feel that I'm reborn."
This is also the group's first comeback after the remaining members - T.O.P, Taeyang, G-Dragon and Daesung - finished their mandatory military service.
For starters, Big Bang debuted in August 2006. They were originally composed of five boys, including Seungri, who retired from the entertainment industry in 2019 after getting involved in sex crimes.
