Kim Sae Ron will not participate in the remaining filming schedules of Netflix's new series "Hunting Dogs." The South Korean actress has decided to drop out of the project after her involvement in the DUI incident.
"Hunting Dogs" production team reveals the news about Kim Sae Ron's decision. However, it remains to be seen if the previously filmed footage that included her would be deleted or not.
The production team told Dispatch, via AllKpop, that the 21-year-old decided not to participate in the "additional filming schedule." However, it has yet to be determined if they will edit her scenes, as it is still under discussion.
The drama's release schedule is also being discussed. It has been recently reported that "Hunting Dogs" filming has already been completed.
Kim Sae Ron was caught drunk driving in Cheongdam-dong, Gangham-gu, Seoul, on May 18. She refused to take a breathalyzer test and requested to be taken to a hospital for a blood test instead. The test result will be out on June 1.
After the incident, the "A Girl at My Door" star issued a formal apology letter and admitted she was drunk back then. Since then, fans started to worry if she would be pulled out from the new Netflix project.
Alternatively, the police revealed Kim Sae Ron was so drunk and could not even properly speak when they caught her, per Manila Bulletin. She crashed her SUV into a number of structures in Gangnam, hitting a guardrail, a tree and a transformer.
It even resulted in causing a power outage in the area, affecting several business establishments and even the traffic. She is now facing charges of drunk driving and damaging properties.
Meanwhile, Korean Electric Power Corporation (Kepco) confirmed that Kim Sae Ron has fully paid to replace the transformer she accidentally destroyed. She reportedly paid it in full on Monday, May 23, and replaced the transformer box, which cost about 20 million KRW or around $15,817.
A Kepco representative said the "The Great Shaman Ga Doo Shim" star first reached out to the company to reimburse the damage she caused. However, aside from the company, she also has to make settlements with the business owners in the area affected by power outage.
Kim Sae Ron is currently negotiating with the businesses around the place as several buildings suffered an electrical failure due to the car crash. According to reports, it is highly likely that her insurance will cover the damages.
