Fans are now waiting for "Stranger Things" Season 5 after the previous season's cliffhanging finale. As everyone is talking about the plot and the future of the fan-favorite cast, the Duffer Brothers, Matt and Ross Duffer, reveal how long the final season will be.

"Stranger Things" Season 4 treated fans with hours-long episodes. However, the same can't be said for "Stranger Things" Season 5.

In an interview with Collider's Steve Weintraub, the Duffer Brothers revealed they would keep the final season to the ten-hour mark. They said they first thought the fourth season to only have eight episodes with regular length.

The fourth season featured nine episodes, which lengths varied from 64 minutes to a whopping 150 minutes. But in the final season, they aimed to stick to the series' original length of eight episodes and won't run for 13 hours or so.

"We're aiming for more like 10 hours or something," they said. However, they cleared "Stranger Things" Season 5 would be longer than the first season as they had a lot to wrap up this time, though it might not be as long as the fourth season.

With that said, Ross Duffer explained that the difference in run time would account for the overall structural change to the story. He even cited the fourth season as an example, revealing it took the group two hours before they realized a monster was behind the killings in Hawkins.

But this time, they already know the threat they're about to face that will help speed up things in the new season. So, what will happen in the new season? One of the much-awaited storylines is Max's (Sadie Sink).

Talking about her return in "Stranger Things" Season 5 after what happened in the previous season finale, would she survive her current state? Fans who have seen the recent episodes know she is in a coma after being sacrificed to kill Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) and being brought back to life by Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown),

In an interview with Deadline, the 20-year-old star revealed she had no idea what was coming and what it would look like in the final season, knowing the Duffer brothers were very secretive about it. With that said, she revealed her character's storyline is "very up in the air," seeing she's in a coma and Eleven can't find her in the void.

"Stranger Things" Season 5 is expected to be out in 2024.
