Kate Middleton is reportedly pushing Meghan Markle "further into the background" by embracing her royal role five months after becoming the Princess of Wales. Prince William's wife also seemingly shuts down the Duchess of Sussex's claim that she's not fond of hugging after seeing her giving big hugs during her recent engagements.

Royal expert Nicholas Owen has nothing but good words for Kate, saying she has "really come into her own" as she continuously embraces her royal role. By the looks of it, the former ITV royal correspondent seemingly alludes that all eyes are now on the Duchess of Cornwall, making Meghan less important.

In a talk on Sky News Australia, via Express, the author said the future queen consort's fame is "absolutely assured." She has a set of new advisors, although the toughest of them all is believed to be one of her main assistants.

Behind the beautiful and smiling face and easy-going personality that people see in the crowds, is a tough Kate who's a mother of three. Her determination set her out, putting Prince Harry's wife behind.

So, Owen believed that if it's the result of the allegations and revelations the Sussexes made, he found it as "jolly convenient" and nice, "pushing Meghan further and further into the background."

As Kate recently appointed the branding and marketing expert Alison Corfield to be her new private secretary, a royal insider told The Telegraph it was a sign that she had redefined herself now that she played a unique role in the monarchy.

As the heir's wife, the insider added that her role was to represent the realm around the world. She now has a "greater platform" as the Princess of Wales, so she needs to have the "right team to deliver for her."

Meanwhile, during her recent royal engagements, Kate showed she's a real hugger. During a school visit Wednesday, she congratulated Captain Preet Chandin on her record-breaking expedition in Antarctica, giving her a big hug.

In another engagement Thursday in Cornwall, she and her husband, Prince William, reunited with one of her former teachers and gave her a sweet embrace, too.

This came on the heels of Meghan's claim on her and Prince Harry's Netflix docuseries," Harry & Meghan," in which the former revealed she was surprised by the Cornwalls' formality behind closed doors.

That said, an alleged friend of Kate told People that contrary to the former actress' claim, her pal is "quite affectionate." "Kate's a big hugger," her friend said, adding she's warm, friendly, and greets everyone with a big hug, which comes naturally to her.
