Jungkook of BTS has illuminated his popularity by becoming a triple crown winner at the Circle Chart Music Awards 2023. At the event held in Busan BEXCO on January 10, Jungkook clinched the 'Artist of the Year Album' category with his solo debut album 'GOLDEN,' released in November last year.
Additionally, his solo single 'Seven,' released in July last year, earned him the 'Artist of the Year Global Streaming' and 'Artist of the Year Circle Score' awards, totaling three trophies at the ceremony.
Jungkook set a historic record at the Circle Chart Music Awards, becoming the first solo artist to simultaneously win in both album and song categories and securing the most awards for a solo artist this year.
'GOLDEN' topped Circle Chart's '2023 Cumulative Album (Physical) Sales Top 15' with sales of 2,702,453 units, making it the highest-selling album among all K-pop solo artists, male and female, in 2023.
'Seven' achieved a remarkable feat by reaching over one billion streams on Spotify in just 108 days, the fastest for any song on the platform. As of the 10th, it has surpassed 1.28 billion streams.
Both 'GOLDEN' and 'Seven' attained impressive ranks on Billboard's main album chart 'Billboard 200' and single chart 'Hot 100,' respectively securing the 2nd and 1st positions, with 'GOLDEN' charting for nine weeks and 'Seven' for fifteen weeks.
Previously, at the 38th Golden Disc Awards on January 6, Jungkook won the 'Best Album' and 'Best Digital Song' categories, setting another record as the first male solo artist to win trophies in both album and song categories at the same awards.
Jungkook also claimed four awards at the Melon Music Awards 2023 (MMA2023) - 'Best Solo Male,' 'Hot Trend Award,' 'Year's Top 10,' and 'Millions Top 10' - and two awards at the 2023 MAMA Awards - 'Best Dance Performance Solo' and 'Best Collaboration.'
Furthermore, he won the 'Song of Summer' category at the '2023 MTV Video Music Awards' (MTV VMA), 'Best Song' at the '2023 MTV Europe Music Awards' (MTV EMA), and 'Top Global K-Pop Song' at the '2023 Billboard Music Awards' (BBMAs), showcasing his global presence as a solo artist.
In 2023, 'Seven' set numerous records on Spotify, including the fastest billion streams, the highest weekly streaming by a male artist worldwide with 89.748 million streams (after filtering), and the fastest 100 million streams (after filtering). Jungkook also established four world records, including the shortest time to reach one billion Spotify streams and the artist with the most number one hits (three songs) on IFPI's official 'MENA' chart, all officially recognized by Guinness World Records.
