A close friend of Princess Kate has refuted claims that Prince Harry reached out to his sister-in-law after leaving the UK, labeling any potential reunion between the estranged royals as a "fantasy." The denial comes in response to a royal expert's assertion that the Duke of Sussex sought to mend his relationship with Kate and Prince William following the Princess of Wales's cancer diagnosis in March.

Speaking to The Daily Beast, the insider emphasized that a meeting with Harry is not a priority for the royal couple at this time. "Meeting with Harry is the last thing that William or Catherine want or need right now. It's a fantasy. It's not about apologies or who said what, it is about protecting his family. Kate is recovering from cancer, and they are avoiding stressful situations," the source stated.

The friend also dismissed the idea of the Sussexes visiting Balmoral this summer, calling it "wishful thinking" and adding, "It's all just very sad."

The comments contradict the claims made by royal expert Tom Quinn, who recently suggested that since leaving the UK, Prince Harry had contacted at least one member of the royal family: Kate. According to Quinn, while the Princess of Wales was sympathetic to Harry's situation, she fully supported her husband and, given her own health challenges, had no intention of playing the role of peacemaker between the brothers.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been estranged from the royal family since stepping down from their duties in 2020. Although Harry briefly visited his father, King Charles, in February after learning of the monarch's cancer diagnosis, he did not meet with him during his recent trip to London for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games due to the King's full schedule.

The relationship between Harry and William remains "extremely fractured," according to an insider who spoke to The Daily Beast. While Harry has privately expressed a desire to sit down with his brother, the source noted that "now is not the time."

Currently, Prince William's focus is solely on his family, supporting his wife during her cancer treatment and caring for their three children: Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.

Christopher Anderson, a royal expert and author of "The King," recently told Fox News Digital that while Harry would love to reconnect with Kate, Prince William is unlikely to allow it. "They were once extremely close, and Harry was hit hard by the news of her cancer diagnosis, which he learned about just the way the rest of us did, via Kate's shocking video," Anderson said.

The Sussexes did share a statement of support soon after Kate went public with her diagnosis, writing, "We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace."

However, the friend's comments suggest that the Princess of Wales is not yet ready to engage in any reconciliation efforts with Prince Harry, as her primary focus remains on her recovery and the well-being of her immediate family.

The ongoing rift between the Sussexes and the royal family has been exacerbated by Harry's attacks against the institution, including allegations made in the couple's explosive Netflix docuseries and his memoir, "Spare." In the docuseries, Harry claimed that William had left him terrified after screaming and shouting at him during the Sandringham summit and that members of Kensington Palace had lied to protect his brother.
