In a significant way, King Charles has returned. The monarch has been receiving treatment for cancer for several months, and the doctors have now given him the all-clear to travel. The palace is currently finalizing plans for official trips to Australia and Samoa in the month of October. On the other hand, the 75-year-old man is also scheduled to embark on a very significant personal vacation.
Tom Quinn, an expert on the royal family, has disclosed that Charles is "in discussions" to travel to California and pay a visit to his second son, Prince Harry, in an effort to alleviate the tension that has been plaguing his family since 2018. According to Tom, there would be a "discreet, private visit" to the mansion in Montecito that Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their children reside in.
“He is desperate to see them and hates the idea that Archie and Lilibet will not remember him as the warm, friendly grandfather he wants to be,” Tom told UK paper The Mirror.
A trip to the United States could be scheduled for the following month, according to New Idea, which is aware that there is a void in the itinerary of King Charles. Following the announcement of his diagnosis earlier this year, Prince Harry traveled to London to spend some time with his father. However, it is said that the two did not discuss the issue of tensions that exist within the family during their time together.
“Now, Charles is feeling a little better and he knows this is the showdown that has to happen. This feud has gone on for far too long, and Charles is anxious to sort it out – but he knows it has to be on Harry and Meghan’s home turf, particularly if he wants to see the grandchildren,” an unnamed source told the entertainment news outlet.
Following the removal of his royal security detail, Prince Harry, who is 39 years old, is hesitant to travel to the United Kingdom with his children. According to reports, however, Prince Harry's animosity against his father has reportedly decreased over the course of the past few months.
“He will be open to hosting his father. He’s relieved Charles seems to want to make the effort,” another insider told New Idea.
From a more personal standpoint, however, King Charles is encountering opposition from both Queen Camilla and Prince William, who is also known as the Prince of Wales.
“William can’t understand why Charles would be going out on a limb like this. Camilla is against the trip more for health reasons. The Australia tour in October is going to be a lot for a man of his age with cancer, let alone an emotional transatlantic journey to visit his estranged son,” the informant shared.
King Charles has yet to comment on the claims that he will be flying off to the US in August to pay Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and their kids a visit. So, devoted supporters of the royal family should take all these unverified reports with a pinch of salt until everything is proven true and correct.
