The breakup between Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck has been finalized. On Tuesday, August 20, the singer of "On the Floor" filed for divorce from the actor of "Batman" with the Los Angeles Superior Court. This date coincided with the second anniversary of the couple's subsequent wedding, which took place in Georgia.
The couple initially tied the wedding in a private ceremony in Las Vegas on July 16, 2022. One month later, they had a massive party for family and friends at Ben’s expansive house in Savannah, Georgia. A large number of people attended the parties.
According to the reports, the date of their divorce was April 26, 2024, and Jennifer filed the petition on her own, without the assistance of an attorney, TMZ reported. Additionally, it was reported that the application did not disclose whether or not there was a prenuptial agreement in existence; nevertheless, a source stated that there was no prenuptial agreement.
As was previously reported by OK! Magazine, speculations circulated that the couple's fairytale romance was on its way to an early conclusion over the past several months. This was due to the fact that they were rarely seen together and were occasionally seen without their wedding rings.
Someone with knowledge of the situation asserted that Jennifer and Ben had radically different approaches to their job and popularity. According to the anonymous source, the “Argo” star disliked all the attention, whilst Jennifer enjoyed being active and in the spotlight.
"Over time, Jennifer and Ben found it increasingly difficult to communicate effectively and small misunderstandings grew into significant arguments. They have fundamentally different approaches to conflict,” the unnamed insider told the entertainment news outlet.
It was only after it was reported that Ben and Jennifer were living in different residences while they worked on their relationship that the rumors about them became more intense. A month ago, it was claimed that the “Gone Girl” actor had discretely removed all of his belongings from their recently listed property, which was valued at sixty million dollars, while she was away on a trip to Europe by herself.
"Jen was horrified when she came back and found out Ben had packed everything up while she was gone. As far as she's concerned, [it was] a real slap in the face,” the informant claimed at the time.
They even celebrated their second wedding anniversary on different coasts, with Jennifer failing to acknowledge the vital day on social media. But this is not the first time that Jennifer and Ben have broken up. While working together on the film "Gigli" in 2001, the former couple had their first encounter. Almost immediately, they began a whirlwind romance, and by the year 2002, they had already become engaged.
The wedding bells, on the other hand, were not meant to be for them in the early 2000s. In 2004, Ben and Jennifer decided to end their relationship because the strains of public attention on their relationship were too much for them to bear.
