Regarding his discontent with the palace, Prince Harry has not been shy in expressing his feelings. In fact, the Duke of Sussex has broken every royal precedent in the past when he has criticized his family and the way they have treated him and his wife, Meghan Markle. He has done this by repeatedly lashing out against his family in interviews, films, and his memoir, "Spare," which is scheduled to be published in 2023.
On the other hand, it is indisputable that, in recent years, there has been a significant shift in the manner in which Prince Harry and Meghan approach the subject matter. Certainly, it has not gone unnoticed that they have significantly reduced the amount of criticism they have leveled on them. Prince Harry, in particular, has voiced his unwavering love for them and his hope that they would be able to make amends in the future, Heat UK reported.
On the surface, it appears that the shift in strategy is a response to the fact that both King Charles and Princess Kate are currently undergoing their own private fights with cancer. Even for Prince Harry and Meghan, who have frequently been accused of being tone-deaf and navel-gazing, it would be beneath them to lash out against their estranged children, given that both of them are still receiving therapy.
But some who are familiar with the situation claim that Prince Harry has a much more compelling motive for making up with his family, and it all boils down to his feelings of uneasiness when he is in the United States. Because of his admission in his autobiography that he had used drugs in the past, the visa status of the former senior royal has been questioned and studied over the course of the past year. This is because his admission would have a significant impact on his ability to claim residency in the United States.
Although Prince Harry has never confirmed the type of visa he possesses, every possibility raises additional questions. For example, if he were to obtain a regular working visa, it would mean that he either lied on his application about his use of drugs or that he was granted a waiver. On the other hand, if he were to obtain a diplomatic visa, he would be in a lot of trouble because of his business dealings in the United States. Whatever the case may be, the fact that he has a very prominent and very abrasive critic who wants to know the truth has made all of the attention that has been directed toward him much more intense.
Take a step forward Donald Trump, who has publicly expressed his disdain for both Harry and Meghan in the past, has threatened to press Prince Harry for accountability in the event that he is successful in regaining possession of the keys to the White House. The former president had not spoken about the Sussexes since earlier this year; however, the Trump group once again voiced their displeasure with the situation this week, following the comments made by Eric Trump, the son of Donald Trump, who expressed his own opinions regarding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. It should go without saying that they were not complimentary.
Appearing on GBNews, the businessman paid tribute to the monarchy, calling it “beautiful” and a “sacred institute” before taking aim at Prince Harry and Meghan. “You can happily have those two. We’ll happily send them back from America,” Donald said.
The former POTUS added that, while he admired the royals, “You can always have bad actors in everything. You can have spoiled apples in every orchard,” which seemed to be a not-so-subtle nod again at the pair’s estrangement from the palace.
