The absurd accusation that Vice President Kamala Harris intends to seize people's vehicles, money, and firearms was made by former President Donald Trump, who was mocked for it.
The GOP nominee delivered an unscripted diatribe against his political opponent during a speech in Walker, Michigan, on Friday, September 27.
When addressing his followers, he declared, "If Kamala Harris wins, she will take your cars, take your money, and take your guns. She wants to confiscate all guns, you know that." OK! Magazine reported that several of Trump's most vocal detractors criticized him for "pulling things to be mad at out of thin air" after videos of his tirade had become popular online.
One of Trump's accounts on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, tweeted out, "Listen to this moron. Utter b-------. Btw during the debate, which Kamala won big time, she mentioned that she and Tim Walz are both gun owners and are not taking anyone's guns."
Just one more X user chimed in, "According to Trump, Democrats are anti-gun, anti-car, anti-gas ovens, anti-employer, anti-worker, anti-life, anti-choice and anti-whatever he needs to say so people will start supporting him again. He's absolutely lost it."
Someone else also posted the video with the caption "Deranged imbecilic alert."
Harris reaffirmed her status as a proud gun owner in a recent interview with Oprah Winfrey, saying, "If somebody breaks into my house, they're getting shot. Sorry, probably shouldn't have said that! But my staff will deal with that later."
Even though Harris is armed, she has called for stricter background checks and the return of the federal prohibition on assault weapons. "Here's my point, Oprah. I'm not trying to take everyone's guns away. I believe in the Second Amendment. These are just common sense," Harris said.
At the same rally, Trump claimed that Harris had gone to the border so recently to "make up some lies, like she said about the border bill that Trump stopped."
“Let me tell you, number one, I didn’t stop it. The senators stopped it. But that’s the worst bill ever drawn. It’s a waste of paper,” Trump said, which is in reference to the bipartisan border security bill that Trump essentially killed by pressuring Republican senators to vote against it, Hindustan Times reported.
Harris has promised that, if elected, she will work to revive the bill. Trump, nevertheless, claimed, "She doesn't need a bill."
No one but the president has the authority to issue executive orders, and whether or not the president may do so on the matter of border security is a matter of heated controversy.
