On September 30, during a hectic week in New York City, Angelina Jolie walked the red carpet at the New York Film Festival with her children Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, and Maddox, 23. On October 1, she went out to lunch with Pax. The British musician Akala, who has been claimed to be her lover, was even seen attending two parties with her.

“She seems really relaxed and happy. It’s like she’s turned over a new leaf,” an unnamed source told In Touch Weekly.

Even more importantly, she is letting go of her past. Under the alias "Jane Doe," Angelina Jolie formally abandoned a 2022 lawsuit against the Federal Bureau of Investigations and the United States Department of Justice. The complaint had been connected to the probe of the September 2016 fight that ended her marriage to Brad Pitt, which took place on a private jet.

“Brad’s team has always contended that they both got full reports already, and this lawsuit was just another way for her to destroy his reputation. But it seems she’s finally given in,” the anonymous insider told the entertainment news outlet.

The public has already learned most of the embarrassing details by this point. The 60-year-old Brad allegedly "mimicked the behavior of a monster and screamed at them" after getting drunk and arguing with Maddox before boarding the plane, as detailed in the FBI investigation.

According to the 49-year-old actress, she and the children were "shellshocked," she felt "frozen, scared and didn't know what to do." The victim sustained two minor injuries, according to her.

Angelina's lawyers provided an even more detailed account of the altercation in a separate litigation involving their marital residence, the Château Miraval in France, according to CNN. Legal documents state that Brad, who was intoxicated, "shook Angelina and pushed her into the bathroom wall" after grabbing her "by the head."

Brad also allegedly told the children, “she’s not OK. She’s ruining the family. She’s crazy.” "He poured beer on [Angelina] and the children," she said, and he "lunged" at a child who attempted to intercede.

His alleged actions were described as "choking one of the children and striking another in the face" in her subsequent lawsuit.

Brad denied ever hitting his children but did acknowledge having an alcohol problem, NPR reported. The "Troy" star was exonerated and not charged by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services.

However, Angelina asserted that prosecutors had declined to act upon a statement of probable cause that had been produced by an FBI agent and had been provided to them. She consequently requested all relevant papers through a Freedom of Information Act request.

“This has contributed to [their] ongoing harm by delegitimizing their experience, making it difficult to demonstrate in ongoing family law proceedings,” the “Salt” actress shared.

Those proceedings are now over, as only two of their kids are under 18. “Technically this is a victory for Brad but the damage has already been done,” the tipster stated.
