Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, are entirely dedicated to the flock of chickens they have been raising. However, the continual clucking of their chicks is beginning to strain their patience, as the couple cannot obtain any sleep.
“They go to sleep with the sounds of chickens in their ears and wake up to it, and it’s not just Ellen and Portia who are being disturbed at all hours; neighbors are complaining, too,” a source told In Touch Weekly.
“Ellen and Portia love them because they are cute, but they’re also wondering if having chickens as pets was such a good idea. That’s why they’re giving away eggs and chickens – it’s become way too much for them," the informant added.
Little Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, the four-year-old son of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, was a surprising recipient of one injured chick being bullied by Ellen's flock. Archie has adorably taken to keeping chickens around his home in a coop he called Archie's Chick Inn.
There have been no reports of the Sussexes complaining about their poultry family. However, the source claims that Ellen's cherished birds are causing her to lose her mind.
“They’re having to go to extreme measures to coyote-proof the cages, and the vet bills are enormous. The staff don’t particularly like cleaning up after them either, especially since Ellen and Portia can’t resist letting them in the house and the flighty fowl leave droppings everywhere.”
Struggling Ellen, 66, has had a significant amount of leisure time to devote to her daughters since the final episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" in May 2022, which spanned 19 years.
Although the veteran presenter stated that she decided to end the program in 2021, there is speculation that the decision was prompted by a series of shocking allegations from ten former employees. These employees claimed that she fostered a "toxic" work environment on the set by cultivating a climate of "racism, fear, and intimidation."
Ellen declared her intention to permanently retire from the entertainment industry after her contractual obligations ended, and her forthcoming Netflix special was released in response to the allegations, as per RollingStone.
A second source previously claimed that the 61-time Daytime Emmy winner "is still angry and she's had enough."
“Her final comedy special is the last time anyone will see her in the public eye. She’s given so much to others, spreading joy and laughter. Now, it’s time for Ellen to focus on herself and live away from the spotlight. After this, we will never see Ellen again!” the tattler stated.
It remains to be seen whether Ellen will ultimately return to the spotlight, GLOBE Magazine reported. A different source has stated that the Netflix special she mentioned in her promise to leave the industry for good was actually an attempt to get back into the good graces of her fans.
The source also described her jokes about possibly having obsessive compulsive disorder and attention deficit disorder as "a clinical grab for attention." The disgraced television staple's courage was displayed in the stand-up special, "For Your Approval," as she maintained an unapologetic demeanor. Fans were left in awe.
