The outlandish joke that Disney felt should be removed from "Deadpool & Wolverine" has long been revealed.
According to the DailyMail, the joke comes with an X rating.
Following Ryan Reynolds' admission that the House of Mouse demanded the removal of a certain phrase from the film, months of conjecture followed, and now the revelation has finally transpired.
Currently accessible on Disney's FYC platform, the uncensored script reveals the contentious line that was previously concealed.
According to ComicBook News, Deadpool was supposed to give this cutting criticism, "F***! What we can't even afford one more X-Man? Disney is so cheap. I can barely breathe with all this Mickey Mouse c*** in my throat.," after he found out that Magneto had passed away. This was supposed to be a fourth-wall-breaking moment of fury for Deadpool.
Director Shawn Levy hinted at this iconic remark in an earlier interview with Entertainment Weekly, in which he stated, "There was only one line in the entire movie that we were asked to change."
He continued, "We have made a pact, Ryan and I, to go to our grave with that line, but I will say that it was replaced with an equally dirty line of dialogue about Pinocchio shoving his face up Deadpool's a** and starting to lie like crazy."
Levy said, "I was like, 'Ryan, that's your replacement line in response to, 'Can we clean it up?'' That's Ryan Reynolds for you, audacious to the very edge."
Per the DailyMail, the movie nevertheless had several "gay jokes" that caused viewers to express their disagreement, even though the explicit Mickey Mouse joke was removed from the final version of the film.
On social media, viewers appeared to have a variety of opinions on the film, particularly in light of the numerous jokes that Ryan's character, Deadpool, made about wanting to have a sexual encounter with Hugh's character, Wolverine.
Notwithstanding the trimming, the film preserved some risqué humor that polarized moviegoers. Social media networks, especially X (previously Twitter), were inundated with responses. Many people conveyed ambivalent sentiments toward the film's humor, particularly in relation to Deadpool's recurrent innuendos about Wolverine.
"Deadpool making jokes about Wolverine's sexual orientation went too far. Disney should've cut those too!" a netizen said.
"The Mickey Mouse joke would've been iconic. Disney's censorship ruins the fun!" a second commentator wrote.
"Honestly, the gay jokes didn't bother me. Deadpool's humor is supposed to be edgy and outrageous," a third chimed in.
"Pinocchio as a replacement? Ryan Reynolds, you're a genius and a menace!" another fan stated.
"Not sure why people are so offended by jokes. It's Deadpool-he's supposed to push boundaries," a fifth fan quipped.
"Disney made the right call. That original line was overkill," another fan said.
