Sabrina Carpenter's Netflix holiday show "A Nonsense Christmas" has fans calling her the new "Queen of Christmas."
According to Daily Mail, the 25-year-old "Espresso" hitmaker debuted her Netflix Christmas special on Friday, featuring surprise duets, guest performances, and comic appearances. The GRAMMY candidate sang songs from her 2023 Christmas EP Fruitcake and Christmas covers.
She performed stunning duets with Chappell Roan, Tyla, Shania Twain, and Kali Uchis on "Last Christmas," "This Christmas," and "Santa Baby". The Don't Smile singer performed hilarious sketches with Abbott Elementary's Quinta Brunson, Sweethearts' Nico Hiraga, and model Cara Delevingne between shows.
Sabrina's character, a girl dating Santa Claus, added a unique and festive touch to the play. Her wit and charm made the fanciful narrative fun. Keeping with her style, the blonde beauty wore various sexy Christmas costumes that captured the season's atmosphere.
Only Netflix streams "A Nonsense Christmas." The unusual title was inspired by the Christmas remix of her smash song "Nonsense" from last December.
Kyle Mooney, Megan Stalter, Sean Astin, Owen Thiele, and Jillian Bell will also appear in the Christmas special.
Sabrina's new At Last Productions label produced "A Nonsense Christmas" with OBB Pictures. In a press statement, Juno singer remarked, "The holidays have always been special to me," per Yahoo. "I am excited to bring my take to a classic holiday variety show infusing my love of music and comedy to make something that is uniquely me."
Executive producer and founder/CEO of OBB Media, Michael D. Ratner, lauded the singer on her Short n' Sweet World Tour.
"Sabrina's vision to subvert the classic holiday special has been clear since day one. At OBB, we partner with the world's most captivating artists to reimagine the expected," he said. "We're proud of the work by our entire team and want to highlight Simone Spira, the Volara team, Sam Wrench, Nikki Boella and all involved that brought Sabrina's vision to life on Netflix ."
In September, the former Disney Channel child star and the streaming site released a teaser trailer for the program. After a three-month sabbatical, the blonde beauty will continue her tour in early March in Dublin, Ireland, for the show's European leg.
Her Short n' Sweet World Tour began in Columbus, Ohio, on September 24, 2024, and will finish in Milan, Italy, on March 26, 2025.
Recently turning 25, "the Lie to Girls" singer is Spotify's #11 most listened-to artist globally.
Sabrina released "A Nonsense Christmas" two days after reporting her breakup with her partner of one year, 32-year-old Oscar contender Barry Keoghan.
Netizens expressed their opinions on A Nonsense Christmas on social media, eliciting emotions that varied from admiration to criticism.
