Brad Pitt's girlfriend Ines de Ramon encouraged him to settle his nearly decade-long divorce battle with Angelina Jolie so that they could move on with their life together, sources told Page Six.
"He was influenced by Ines to finally settle," the insider said. "Ines wants to have a life together with possibly children in the future without the albatross that was the eight-year War of the Roses."
As of September 19, 2016, Jolie submitted a petition for the divorce of her marriage, and ever since then, the A-listers have been engaged in a contentious dispute on custody and different matters.
Despite this, the never-ending and Byzantine legal battle that has been going on over their French winery, Chateau Miraval, is still going on.
In 2019, they both became legally single, and on Monday, they finally signed the divorce papers that were pending between them.
Furthermore, according to a different source, "Ines is a positive influence on Brad. She has a really good perspective on things. It's sad how this whole thing has played out, but at least this is progress in the right direction."
In November of 2022, jewelry designer De Ramon, who was 31 years old at the time, and Pitt, who was 60 years old, were first rumored to be dating. They made their first official red-carpet entrance nearly two years later, at the Venice Film Festival in 2024.
According to Page Six, the "Fight Club" star is "so grateful" to have a strong woman like De Ramon by his side. Not only does she stand by him, but she is also unfazed by the fact that he is in the public glare or by all of the problems that are associated with Brad's legal drama.
De Ramon does not permit any of those difficulties to come between them or to put any kind of strain on their relationship, according to the source.
The fact that she was previously married to "Vampire Diaries" star Paul Wesley means that she is somewhat accustomed to being in a relationship that is in the public eye.
Previously, Pitt was married to Jennifer Aniston before he married Jolie.
Recently, Jolie's attorney, James Simon, stated to People, "More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family. This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over."
