The Huawei Mate 20 Series is expected to launch this October, led by Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro. Three phones are expected to come out, the other being the mid-range Mate 20 phone. The word out, however, is that the trio may be joined by a premium handset to be known as the Porsche Design Mate 20.

For now, the only thing certain is that there are new Huawei Mate devices coming. Such was confirmed no less by Huawei Consumer Business Group CEO Richard Yu who also singled out how the devices will debut with the world’s first 7nm chipset, Android Authority said.

Other exact specs of the devices in the Huawei Mate 20 Series have yet to be revealed although it was mentioned that the 7nm Kirin 980 will consume 40 percent less power and it will be 20 percent faster. Aside from that, the devices will also come with an enhanced AI chipset.

Unfortunately, further specs of the Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro have yet to be revealed. Most are rumors, meaning folks who would be interested in the new line may have to wait a bit longer until the company is ready to reveal its official specs.

Among the rumored specs include a device sporting a 4,200 mAh battery, something that would make sense to back up the chipset, cameras, and display. The Mate 20 is speculated to have a 6.3-inch notched display while the Mate 20 Pro will tote a larger 6.9-inch screen. Both are believed to be coming with 8 GB of RAM onboard.

For the Mate 20 Pro, it is expected to come with triple rear cameras. The new cameras are the same ones that Oppo and OnePlus believe to be arming the Oppo R17 and the OnePlus 6T. The device is also believed to be coming with Android P out of the box.

With new specs, the next thing that potential buyers would want to know is the suggested retail price and when they are expected to hit the market. In terms of pricing, Android Central believes that they are likely to be priced along the lines of the Huawei Mate 10 line. The Huawei Mate 10 Pro initially retailed for about $799 and the same could hold true for the Huawei Mate 20 counterpart.

As far as release date is concerned, Huawei is more likely to unveil them as early as October. Looking at previous years, they unveiled the Mate 10 on Oct. 16 while the Mate 9 came out on Nov. 24.
