Africa and the United Nations (UN) echoes the same sentiments; China is good for Africa.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres echoed these sentiments during a joint forum with Chinese correspondents. The Secretary-General said that he believed in the theory that Africa is integral to the success of development and peace in general all over the world. ECNS reports his theory that, for the country to achieve such a success, its current partnerships with China will be needed.

The Belt and Road Initiative, the Secretary-General added, will ensure that the African continent is connected to the world through China. It will be strengthened by various connections-telecommunications, roads, railways, or otherwise. Guterres reiterated his call by saying that all living beings are connected and that the times we are in is 'interlocked.'

China's aim in cultivating the BRI isn't only to create a strong economy for the African nations. It is also a road toward creating effective globalization through patterns in development, improving governance, and creating a framework toward economic globalization.

These comments were uttered ahead of the China-Africa Cooperation summit, an event in which Beijing has invited the leaders of the African nations that Chinese president Xi Jinping has already visited. The event, according to Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, will be one of 'global significance' which will bring about the development of the African nations as well as China.

DW reports that China is particularly hopeful that this will bring about more trade as well as more benefits for all the countries involved. Xi Jinping's visit to China has also been the main topic of discussion in the media. The media were quoted to be preaching all positives, with the Belt and Road Initiative saw as a big positive ever since China has followed it through.

Liberia and Kenya, in particular, had been heard on Chinese media. Economy Minister Augustus Flomo of Liberia said that China remained an integral partner in creating developments in their country, especially in the sector of infrastructure. Meanwhile, Kenya president Uhuru Kenyatta said that his country was very 'keen' to partner with China as equals.

The Forum on China-Africa Cooperation will be held on September 3-4, with the theme: "China and Africa: Toward an even stronger community with a shared future through win-win cooperation." It is seen to be in line with the respective targets of China and Africa, most notably the "Made in China" policy as well as "Agenda 2063," respectively.
