Huawei’s latest flagship, the Huawei Mate 20, has finally gotten a release date and is reportedly due to be unveiled in London. The new device from the Mate series is expected to pack plenty of impressive features, a practice that the company has implemented on past mobile offerings.

The official release date for the Huawei Mate 20 will be on Oct. 10, 2018, in London. This pretty much sums the message the company released through its social media account, highlighting some of the main features of the latest Huawei flagship.

Among the main features to look forward to for the Huawei Mate 20 include an alleged 6.3-inch AMOLED screen backstopped by a Kirin 980 chipset. The processor is touted to be better than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, something that was highlighted in an event recently held in Berlin, Mashable said. This claim has yet to be tested individually by critics and techies.

Aside from the display and processor, other specs are still up for confirmation. Per rumors, the Huawei Mate 20 will also have 6 GB of RAM, 128 GB of internal storage, wireless charging capability and a 4,200 mAh battery.

Seeing how Huawei has placed a premium on the built-in cameras, the Mate 20 is most likely to have a main triple camera setup similar to the Huawei P20. But as mentioned in a previous post, there could be a slight iteration in terms of placement at the rear. Rather than the traditional vertical placement on the far left side, the three cameras will be arranged in a square-like manner and situated at the middle of the device.

Aside from that, other features to expect include the 3.5 mm audio jack, USB-C port, possibly an HDMI out and have Android Pie 9.0 pre-installed out of the box.

The Huawei Mate 20 is believed to be coming in different variants. The Huawei Mate 20 Lite is one of them, an option that includes a dual rear and front-facing camera, running on a Kirin 710 chipset, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of internal storage and a 3,750 mAh battery.

Yet to be confirmed is the release of a bigger variant most are referring to as the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. It is believed that this will sports a massive 6.9-inch display and integrate the latest in-display fingerprint technology.

As mentioned also in another post, there is also the Huawei Porsche Design Mate 20 edition. The device is seen as the top of the clan and also likely to use in-display fingerprint technology supplied by Goodix.
