Apple released iOS 12.1.3 update for iPhone, iPad, and HomePod on Tuesday, Jan. 22. The new update includes bug fixes on the aforementioned devices.

Issues that have been fixed

There is no new feature added on the new iOS 12.1.3 update. However, it includes annoying issues, according to The Verge. The issues that most Apple users that have been encountered lately are the following

"An issue in Messages that might impact scrolling through pictures while in the Details view, a problem that could lead certain CarPlay systems to disconnect from the iPhone XR, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, an issue that could cause audio distortion if using external audio input devices on the iPad Pro, and a problem involving photos having striped artifacts when sent from the Share Sheet."

According to a source, the fix issue he noticed on the newly released update is the issue in the Messages. Try to tap a contact's name in a Messages conversation and then choose "info," you'll be taken to the Details page. The bottom half of this screen will show any photos or videos you've shared with one of your contacts. This chance offers the convenience of finding a certain image or just scrolling back though memories. Unlike on iOS 12.1.2, scrolling down beyond the first few images would result in a glitchy mess. It would even show blank file previews.

HomePod restart issue causing Siri to stop listening has been fixed, Apple confirmed. Just recently, the tech company rolled out WatchOS 5.1.3. This update includes "improvements and bug fixes," according to CNet

For those who have a new iPhone such as XR, XS, or XS Max, they may have encountered unexpected disconnection from CarPlay when in the vehicle. With the iOS 12.1.3, this issue should be fixed. The update also contains a fix for 2018 iPad Pro devices.  In a previous report, there are users complained about hearing audio distortion with plugged in external audio input devices. Once you get the update, this distortion should now be gone.

Apple vowed to focus on performance and stability with iOS 12. Although you may still notice some bugs in some time, the update has fixed the major issues. A source claimed that apps open quicker on old iOS devices. Apart from the bug fixes, there will be new features will come in iOS 13, which should be announced this coming June.
