German logistics companies shared their good experience in doing deals with Chinese-related businesses and they said that they are ready for more. Ingo Grunwald, senior manager operations of German packaging and logistics company EPOLOG said in an interview with Xinhua that more than 60 percent of their business is related to China.
Grumwald has been working in the industry for about 31 years. He said that business ties with China are constantly growing at a fast pace with lots of potential for growth. The company's deals with Chinese businesses are evident in its warehouse where containers scheduled to be shipped are everywhere.
The manager also said that his medium-sized company is prepared to handle more China-related businesses and he is hoping that trade relations between China and Germany maintain its good, continuous, and sustainable development since it greatly benefits businesses. He also said that he is not seeing any sign of a decrease in the flow of Chinese orders even though others are worrying about external elements.
DB Cargo's consultant, Helmut Oetjen, had held negotiations with visiting Chinese delegations. He said that his DUSS Hamburg-Billwerder intermodal terminal has been negotiating with then thousands of containers brought by the China-Europe freight trains. China unloaded around 17,000 units in 2018 which made up to 6 percent of the terminal's total loading units for the year. The containers coming from the world's biggest market attracts almost every logistics investors.
He also said that logistics business continues to grow with high potential every year following the first China-Europe freight train's arrival in 2013. He also said that their terminal is willing to supply good service for Chinese customers and has lots of room and capacity to do it. He added that they welcome the passage brought by the China-Europe freight trains and they are ready for more trade volumes.
Cao Wei of the Changjiu Logistics GmbH in Hamburg noted that increasing popularity of German beer, wine, healthcare, and dairy products in China. He projected that he is seeing great demand and possibility of more business. Cao said that as a Germany registered company, they will secure the trade bridge for both sides and they will provide the Chinese customers with good things according to their desire.
Tao Bailing, the commercial counselor of the general consulate of China in Hamburg, confirms the readiness of German companies for Chinese businesses. He highlighted that the German economic and business community has benefited a lot in the past 40 years from China's reform and opening up.
