Dark mode is highly popular right now in a lot of mobile applications like YouTube, Reddit, and Twitter. For those iPhone users who are still waiting for Facebook to have a dark mode, a gadgets site shared tips on how to have this feature with some few phone modifications.
Facebook is currently testing this dark mode feature in their Messenger app, according to an article published in The Independent. The incomplete version of the Dark Mode feature has already rolled out in some countries.
For some users, having a Dark Mode feature will help their vision as some smartphone users are complaining about screen glare. Despite other social media sites already offering a Dark Mode or Night Mode, Facebook has yet to catch up.
Luckily, Brainchild of FoxfortMobile has figured out how to have the Dark Mode feature on Facebook apps, according to an article published in Gadgets Hack. His tweak also comes with a dozen themes of shades that users can choose from.
But first, iPhone users who are seeking this new experience with Facebook must make sure that their model is jailbroken. If it is not jailbroken, iPhone users may not have this feature.
Brainchild's first step in achieving the Dark Mode in Facebook is to install the Packix Repo. The mode is not automatically available within either Cydia or Sileo so that means users have to install an external repo like Packix first.
After installing the Packix Repo, iPhone users must buy FacebookDarkMode. They can buy this mode for their Facebook app through PayPal.
Once the user bought the mode, they need to verify their purchase and register their iPhone to pave way for the installation to the Facebook account. Brainchild recommends clicking the "Link via Profile" button within the Packix page since "Link via Cydia" does not work.
The user will be asked to link their device with a profile, in which they should tap "Agree". They will be then transferred to the Settings app to complete the process. This is a step closer in achieving that desired Facebook mode.
After that, install FacebookDarkMode then choose "Modify" (Cydia) or "Get" (Sileo) to start the installation. Give it a few minutes to have it installed in your Facebook app. Hit "Restart SpringBoard" to finish the installation.
Once the installation is complete, open the Settings app and select "FacebookDarkMode". After that, tap the button that would enable feature. After that, users can finally see the Dark Mode in their Facebook account.
