Is Ellen DeGeneres preparing to leave her wife, Portia De Rossi? The couple has been rumored to be on the verge of a divorce years ago, but this time, sources are saying that the daytime TV host has been planning to rebuild her life in a new house without De Rossi.
The sources dished that DeGeneres bought a $27.5 million mansion in rural California recently with a plan that she will use this as her "secret gateway," according to Celebrity Insider. The reports cited that the purchase was done without De Rossi's consent and knowledge and that the people behind the deal with DeGeneres have been asked to sign non-disclosure agreements to protect her interest.
But apparently, DeGeneres' wife may have found out about the secret bachelorette pad as she was spotted crying in public at a restaurant in West Hollywood. According to the reports, De Rossi was with her brother, Michael Rogers, who was also seen comforting her.
News outlet Gossip Cop, however, debunked the story about DeGeneres secretly planning to rebuild her life without her beloved significant other. The news outlet said that the stories about the couple divorcing are completely false and inconsistent and that DeGeneres has already spoken about this before.
Meanwhile, to prove that all is solid and well in the DeGeneres and De Rossi camp, the latter was actually in Rwanda to attend the ground-breaking ceremony of the construction of Ellen DeGeneres Campus on behalf of her wife. De Rossi, in fact, shared the story on The Ellen Fund, where she detailed that the school will have a state-of-the-art facility.
The construction of the said school will also bring 1,500 jobs for the locals. Once the site is completed, there are plans to open a research laboratory with resident scientists who can teach the students and the locals about protecting the environment, especially the many endangered animals at the Rwandan forest.
DeGeneres was said to be inspired to build this science facility in Rwanda because of primatologist and conservationist Dian Fossey. De Rossi, who is the director of her wife's foundation, shared that both she and DeGeneres are appreciative and impressed by the efforts and enthusiasm of the locals in Rwanda to help make this dream come true.
The school, located in the Kampanga Cell on the Kinigi Sector, is said cost about $10 million. It will also become the permanent home of the Dian Fossey Foundation, which has been in operation in Rwanda for 50 years.
