New details regarding CD Projekt RED's upcoming title, "Cyberpunk 2077," have recently surfaced, and it's going to excite players in a pretty good way.

Fans keeping themselves posted on the game's development know that Cyberpunk 2077 is a futuristic RPG that puts players in the shoes of a mercenary named V. In a video, CDPR showed that V can be customized according to one's preferences: gender, appearance, classes, skills, and a lot more.

The video portrayed V as a female who was joined by a male character named Jackie. Seeing this made a certain Twitter used named Brianaxu curious, ComicBook reported. Brianaxu then asked the game developers two questions:

First, he asked if V will have female sidekicks in the game, considering that the gameplay video showed a female V followed by a male Jackie. Second, he asked if Jackie will have a female version that will be partnered with a male V.

CD Projekt RED gladly responded to Brianaxu's questions, effectively teasing the whole gaming populace regarding the highly anticipated title. First, they said Jackie is just one of V's possible companions, and will only join V on some missions. Second, they said V only has a few companions, and the "few" already includes Jackie. Last and more importantly, they said V will have female companions that will appear as the game progresses.

Although it's unclear as to how many companions V will have, what's clear is that some of them will be females, and they will show up whether V ends up becoming a male or female character. Regardless of their roles, CD Projekt RED will make sure they will have a part in V's story.

This news will come as a good one to players looking for more variety. Cyberpunk 2077 looks very well made with an open world full of details and populated with in-game NPCs that seem to have a personality of their own.

Those waiting for Cyberpunk 2077, however, should know that it will be suited for mature audiences only. It features explicit language, violence, sexual activity, and full frontal nudity.

According to earlier reports, CDPR will not make Cyberpunk 2077 an Epic Store exclusive. Players on Steam and GOG will also have an opportunity to purchase the title via the respective platforms.

It still doesn't have a release date as of writing time, though. Perhaps it's best to wait for the game to be released before making any conclusions about it.
