The much-awaited arrival of Negan of “The Walking Dead” is finally happening on “Tekken 7”. Word of the popular character’s coming to the video game got around last year as a guest fighter and now an official release date has been revealed.

Negan, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, will be coming to “Tekken 7” on Feb. 28, armed with his famous barbed-wire-strapped baseball bat known as Lucille, Game Rant reported. Aside from that, it looks like there will be a stage based on “The Walking Dead”, the sight of an infamous scene where Negan would line up some of the show’s main characters before executing them with his iconic barbed-wire baseball bat.

Aside from Lucille and “The Walking Dead” stage, Negan is expected to come equipped with moves he has done on the series. This includes slamming the bat on an opponent’s skull and another where he stabs an adversary in the gut with a large knife.

Negan is not the only one coming to Tekken 7. As seen in the official trailer, Julia Chang will also be available starting Feb. 28, likewise available for players who are looking to try out some new character on the hit video game. Both join a list of unique guest fighters in the past. This includes Akuma from “Street Fighter” and Geese Howard from “Fatal Fury”.

The simultaneous coming of Negan and Julia may be a bit odd considering added characters or content are normally released one by one, PC Gamer reported. Regardless, the winners here are the Tekken 7 gamers who will likely try to get their hands on either or both new characters and pit them with the regular cast of characters such as Akuma, Claudio Serafino, Gigas, Josie Rizal, and Jack-7 among others.

Julia Chang is available for download at $5 a pop while Negan costs a tad more at $8. “Tekken 7” continues to gain ground since getting launched two years ago. It continues to get support from Bandai Namco with future support likely to include more fighters available via DLC.

For now, catch a glimpse of what Negan and Julia Chang have to offer in the official trailer which can be viewed below.
